Rocky Mountain National Park

Campgrounds of Rocky Mountain

Rocky Mountain has five developed campgrounds within the park, with all but one of them being in the main visitor areas. While all were previously in heavy pine forest, the pine beetle outbreak has significantly changed the character of some of these campgrounds. Glacier Basin and Timber Creek have been especially hard hit, with most of the trees dead and removed for safety reasons.
