Sleeping in or near Hawaii Volcanoes
Volcano House Hotel is the only lodging within the park boundaries. It is located in an excellent spot, right on the caldera rim and across the street from park headquarters. It has been recently restored and is ready for business.

The appropriately named Hawaiian town of Volcano is just down the road from the main entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. There are a large number of choices here, though you won’t find typical chain hotels. The search links below will find a good selection.

Hilo overnight lodging options
Hilo is the major city on this side of the Big Island of Hawaii. An airport is here, as well as all other services. Again, chain hotels are absent, but there are large numbers available. While Hilo is farther from the park, it is close to many other attractions, and is convenient because of the wide variety of services.
