Isle Royale Lodging Inside the Park

Isle Royale National Park is one of the most remote parks in the system. It lies far offshore in Lake Superior. Rock Harbor Lodge is the sole lodging available on the island, and is currently operated by Forever Resorts. There are also a few rustic camper cabins available on the Windigo said of the island, operated by the same company. Rates are extremely high, and reservations difficult to get, due to the extremely short season and the difficulty of providing services in such a remote area

Isle Royale Lodging Near the Park

Lodging in Houghton

Due to the nature of Isle Royale’s location, lodging “near” the park is in relative terms. The most common launching point for a trip to the island is the town of Houghton, Michigan, where the National Park Service has its mainland visitor center.
