Campgrounds of Guadalupe Mountains

Dog Canyon Campground

  • Size & Cost: 13 sites, $15 per site
  • Open: All Year
  • Reservations: No, first come, first served
  • Location: At the Dog Canyon Entrance 65 miles south of Carlsbad, NM
  • Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, and picnic tables – no fires are allowed
  • Demand: High. This campground is in the remote Dog Canyon area but is very small, and often fills.

Pine Springs Campground

  • Size & Cost: 39 sites, $15 per site
  • Open: All Year
  • Reservations: No, first come, first served
  • Location: Just off of US-62/US-180 near the visitor center
  • Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, and picnic tables – no fires are allowed
  • Demand: High. This campground is in the small developed area near the visitor center, and is often full during peak visitation. 20 sites are available for tents, in partially shaded juniper and oak forest. 19 RV sites are essentially marked spaces in a parking area.
