Sleeping in or near Katmai
Katmai National Park is extremely remote, and can only be reached by float plane. There are three small lodges in the park. They are all run by the park’s concessioner, Katmailand. Rates are outrageously high, due to the small capacity and remote location, and reservations should be made far in advance. Katmailand also handles air service to and from the area, as well as flightseeing within the park itself.
King Salmon overnight lodging options
Limited lodging can be found in the town of King Salmon, the location of the airport where flights from Anchorage land is located. Air taxi transportation will be necessary to access the park, and it is not cheap.
