This is a highly recommended purchase for anyone who plans to hike here. For some reason, it sometimes goes out of stock at Amazon. Check all of the merchants before you pay a ridiculous price for an used copy there.
Hiking Circuits in Rocky Mountain National Park
This is a somewhat unique and very useful hiking guide for Rocky Mountain National Park. It features hiking circuits, mostly loop hikes. The park has many interconnecting trails, and this book helps you get the most for your mile, without doubling back. We use this book and recommend it.
Day and Overnight Hikes: Rocky Mountain National Park
This is another hiking book for Rocky Mountain National Park, focusing on some of the shorter hiking routes. Most are of the dayhike variety, but some are best done as overnights. This book is probably the best choice for those interested in only the shorter hikes. It is also a good companion to the complete guide listed first on this page.

This is the Rocky Mountain National Park edition of the very common "The Story Behind the Scenery" series. These books are very commonly found in the visitor centers and gift shops of the parks. They are short, but they provide good photos and general information on the park itself.
