Getting to Petrified Forest

The main approach to the park is via I-40. From the west, take exit 285 into Holbrook to AZ-180 south to the park's South Entrance. From the east, take exit 311, which provides nearly direct access to the park.

The nearest airport with major airline service and car rental is in Flagstaff (FLG), two hours away. Airports in Albuquerque (ABQ), three hours away, and Phoenix (PHX), four hours away, offer extensive service. Expedia searches are provided below for price references. For flights, simply enter your origin, destination, dates, and number of passengers. For cars, change the radio button at the top to car, enter the pickup airport, the dropoff airport (usually the same), and the pickup and dropoff dates/times.
