Park Entrance
Just off of US-101 in Port Angeles, the entrance sign welcomes you to the Heart o' the Hills area of Olympic National Park and the road to Hurricane Ridge.

Entrance Station
The road passes through the entrance station here. The park entrance fee must be paid or a valid pass shown.

Heart o' the Hills Campground
The road passes by the entrance to the Heart o' the Hills Campground.

Switchback Trailhead
Parking for the Switchback Trail is on the right.

Hurricane Ridge
The road arrives at the Hurricane Ridge parking area. Spaces line each side of the road. Great views can be had all along this area, as at right. A series of mostly paved trails also traverses the fragile tundra. This area is almost always windy (hence the name) and is often quite cold, even in summer.

Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center
As the parking area continues along the road, the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center is on the left. In addition to the usual visitor services, there is a gift shop and a snack bar.

Hurricane Ridge Picnic Area
The road passes the first of two picnic areas on the left. Short paved trails lead from the parking area to overlook areas. Views like the one at left can be had from many of the picnic tables.
