About North Cascades Weather

North Cascades weather varies greatly by season and location. From at least November to April much of the park is buried with heavy snows. The best weather is from June to September, when most of the trails are at least mostly melted out. The west slopes and high peaks catch the precipitation from the Pacific Ocean creating a lush evergreen forest, while the east slopes are warm and dry in the summer. The western slopes receive an average of 76 more inches of precipitation and 407 more inches of snowfall. Mountain weather, of course, is unpredictable all year.
