Getting to Lassen Volcanic

The main park road in Lassen can be accessed from the south off of CA-36, 45 miles east of Red Bluff, or from the north off of CA-44, 50 miles east of Redding. Unpaved access roads to Warner Valley and Juniper Lake are reached out of the city of Chester.

The nearest airports with major airline service and car rental are in Sacramento (SMF) and Reno, Nevada (RNO), both about 160 miles away. Reno is a little quicker of a drive at two and a half hours. Sacramento is about three hours. Expedia searches are provided below for price references. For flights, simply enter your origin, destination, dates, and number of passengers. For cars, change the radio button at the top to car, enter the pickup airport, the dropoff airport (usually the same), and the pickup and dropoff dates/times.
