Finding a room in Lassen Volcanic
![]() |
Lassen Volcanic National Park has one lodge inside park boundaries, the Drakesbad Guest Ranch. It is located far from the main part of the park in the Warner Valley area. Reservations are generally needed far in advance, as with most national park lodges. It is open roughly late June to early October. |
Outside the park lodging for the Lassen area is quite limited. The town of Chester is reasonably close to most of the access roads and offers a few lodging options. The city of Redding is a 90 minute drive from the entrance, but offers a large number of properties. We offer two methods of finding lodging in the area. The first is a search on Expedia. This will give you a good pricing comparison, and a number of property options. Simply enter one of the suggested destinations, your expected dates, number of people, and click "search". After the search we list some specific properties with details and a link to book directly with the property. The lodging is listed in order of proximity to Lassen Volcanic National Park and includes a link for directions from property to park entrance.
