Getting to Joshua Tree

There are three main road entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. The south entrance is reached off of I-10. The exit is not numbered, but it is signed for the park and is about 40 miles east of Palm Springs. The west and north entrances are both a short distance off of CA-62. The west entrance is about 10 miles east of the city of Yucca Valley. The north entrance is just outside of Twentynine Palms.

The nearest airport with major airline service and car rental is about 40 minutes from the south entrance, in Palm Springs (PSP). The Los Angeles airport (LAX) is just over 2 hours from the west entrance. The San Diego airport (SAN) is about 2 and a half hours from the west entrance. We suggest using Expedia when searching for your flights and rental cars. Use the suggested airport code(s) above for the fastest results. The search box defaults to flight searches. To change to a rental car search, simply click the arrows next to the airplane icon in the upper right corner of the box.
