This is the best, and perhaps only, comprehensive trail guide for Isle Royale National Park. It covers numerous hiking routes and gives good general information on the island. A must have book for a trip to the park, it has been newly updated for 2011. We use this book personally and recommend it.
Superior Wilderness: Isle Royale National Park
This is probably the best general guide book for the park. It covers all sorts of general information. It is a bit dated, but not too much has changed over the years. For trail guides, the book above this one is what you want.
A Far Green Country: Hiking Tips from Isle Royale National Park
This is a rather unique approach to a hiking guide for Isle Royale National Park. The author shares their own experiences of backpacking in the park, and many of the helpful tips that they learned along the way.
The Wolves of Isle Royale: A Broken Balance
Isle Royale National Park has a unique, closed ecosystem which allows a study of the balance between wolf and moose populations. The author of this book has conducted these studies, and this book is a fascinating look into that relationship between predator and prey.
