Getting to Glacier Bay National Park

Driving to Glacier Bay

Glacier Bay National Park is off of the road system and cannot be driven to from anywhere other than locally. The only access is by boat or airplane. Most visitors only see the park from a cruise ship.

For reference, below you will find an interactive map showing the location of Glacier Bay Lodge in Bartlett Cove in Glacier Bay.

Flying to Glacier Bay

A small airport in Gustavus (GST) has daily flights from Juneau during the summer visitor season. The Juneau Airport (JNU) in turn has some major airline service. Anchorage (ANC) is the nearest major airport and has connecting service to Juneau.

Below you will find a listing of the two major airports in Alaska. For each airport we give useful links for further information on the airport, as well as flight and rental car bookings. These links already have the destination airport selected for your convenience. For price searches, simply enter your origin and dates.

Official Park Maps

Below are the official park maps provided by the National Park Service. You can view either the original PDF file or a simple JPEG image file (some of these files can be quite large). Note that while these maps are useful for general navigation around the park, if you plan to do any hiking, you should really have a proper Glacier Bay Trail Map.
