About Gates of the Arctic Weather

Gates of the Arctic National Park is part of the central Brooks Range. It has long, severe winters and relatively short summers. During the winter, nearly endless night occurs, while the summer has a month of continuous daylight. Weather is extremely unpredictable, and any type of weather can occur at any time. Snow can fall during any month of the year. The weather statistics below are taken from the town of Bettles, just south of the park, and the location of the park's main ranger station.
