Canyonlands National Park has no lodging inside the park boundaries. The park is very remote, and is divided into three districts, two of which are accessible without major planning. The Island in the Sky District is about 29 miles from Moab, which has grown into a large tourist hub in recent years, due to its proximity to both Canyonlands and nearby
Arches National Park. The Needles District is about 45 miles from the town of Monticello.
