Visitation Seasons

The spring starts off cold, with few visitors. Snow is likely into April. Visitation picks up considerably Memorial Day and beyond. Days warm up, although nights remain cold.

The summer is the main visitation season in the park. Days are usually pleasantly warm, but nights can still drop to near freezing. Thunderstorms become more common late in the summer. Lodges and campgrounds are full and the more popular areas can become quite crowded.

The fall is a good time to visit, with mid September to mid October being ideal. Days are usually still warm, and most of the crowds have left. Towards the end of the season temperatures drop further and snows become a real possibility.

The winter brings very low temperatures, snows, and few visitors. However, many consider this time to be the park's most beautiful. The park road is normally closed beyond the main Bryce amphitheater at the Rainbow Gate.
